Walt Massey

National Healthcare Practice Leader, Balfour Beatty Construction

Walt has led the planning or construction efforts for more than eight million square feet valued at more than $4 billion. His project experience spans a range of construction management, program management, design management, and equipment/ transition planning services. A consistent theme throughout his career has been his ability to build high-performing teams and work collaboratively with all project team members including owners, architects, engineers, consultants and community leaders. Prior to his construction career, Walt served as a surface warfare and intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering, and earned an Executive Certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Walt began his career with the company in 1999. In 2011, he was named president of the Consultancy division, serving healthcare clients in 20 states and consistently ranked as one of the top providers of construction, program management, and advisory services. In 2013, he was named National Healthcare Practice Leader and works with all 10 geographical regions of Balfour Beatty Construction. He and his family reside in Dallas, Texas.
