You must be registered to participate!This session follows up ongoing national benchmarking research on critical access hospitals based on the collaboration between academic researchers, designers, policy makers and FGI. The final spatial comparisons will be presented for comparison the current and future rules. The implications of the research on design decision-making for small rural hospitals and future guidelines will be elaborated upon with examples. Recent proposed changes to reimbursement strategies will be reviewed to imagine what rural health care may become. Finally, the work of the FGI’s task group on Rural Care will be presented to review how this data can be used to support the development of sustainable rural projects.
