Members: $15.00
Standard: $30.00

Description

Despite careful planning and good intentions, it can be hard for staff to achieve targeted efficiency and performance after a move into a new environment. This session will provide strategies planning, design, and in-house operations teams can use to pave the way for a smooth transition and successful postoccupancy period. The critical role of change management in making design truly effective will be discussed.

This session will enable attendees to:

  • Explain how project planning and transition planning can go hand-in-hand to ease staff adaptation to working in a new space.
  • Identify opportunities to deploy change engagement strategies during the project planning and implementation process.
  • Discuss the presented data to demonstrate that change engagement is necessary and can be effective for all planning and design projects.
  • Employ three key talking points to begin conversations about implementation of change management in their organizations.

Speaker(s):

  • Jennie Evans, RN, BS, DEAC, LEED AP, LEED SIX SIGMA CE, Sr. Vice President, Associate Principal, HKS Architects
  • Adeleh Nejati, Healthcare Architect and Design Researcher, HKS Architects
  • Meredith Slosberg, Deployment Leader, Organizational Effectiveness, Akron Children's Hospital
