Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are experiencing growth as the push continues toward outpatient procedures rather than toward hospitals. This session reviews the AAAHC/Medicare Deemed Status (AAAHC/MDS) accreditation program for ambulatory surgery centers and the pivotal role that facility management plays in ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and conditions for coverage requirements that regulate ASCs.
