Michael Hatton, Vice President, manages facilities, support services, engineering and construction start-up activities from a Corporate level for Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas. Mr. Hatton has been in the facilities management sector for his entire career with extensive experience in high-rise building management, medical office buildings, and hospital operations. He holds numerous certifications including ASHE’s CHFM and SASHE certifications, has authored numerous technical papers and presentations related to emergency management, energy, and engineering operations, and received an MBA from University of Houston. In addition to operational duties, Mike has been a key team member and Project Manager in the successful delivery of over $1.5 billion of healthcare facility construction plus the current project list that totals over $ 2.5 billion in new expansion initiatives. Under his direction, Memorial Hermann has driven over $60 million to the bottom line as a direct result of energy benchmarking and retro-commissioning. Memorial Hermann has been recognized with ASHE’s prestigious E2C Award on 39 occasions and was awarded ‘Energy Star Partner of the Year’ in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Memorial Hermann initiated the Texas TAFHM Energy Round Up competition via the Texas ASHE chapter (TAHFM) which provides a competitive framework for healthcare facilities to improve energy performance and their bottom line.
