Michael Hatton, Vice President, manages “facilities” and construction for Memorial Hermann in Texas. In the previous 48 months, he has delivered 6 major expansions in Houston with a capital cost approaching $2 billion. Currently, Mike leads over 450 projects (~$2.3 billion) in the marketplace as Memorial Hermann expands its footprint to keep up with growth in the region. Under his leadership, Memorial Hermann has driven over $190 million to the bottom line, reduced natural gas >59%, improved kBtu/sqft by 25.3%, and subsequently, reduced emissions 22.4% via a focus on retro-commissioning, benchmarking and pursuing Best Practices. Memorial Hermann has 10 Energy Star labeled hospitals; 2 facilities are ranked at Energy Star 100, and 7 other hospitals above the 90th percentile! Mike recently wrapped up his term as the 2025 President of ASHE, a professional member group of the American Hospital Association and pursues the total elimination of ‘Zombies’ from our Healthcare project delivery process (in his spare time)!
