Linda Dickey, RN, MPH, CIC is the Director of Epidemiology & Infection Prevention at University of California, Irvine Health. She has practiced epidemiology & infection prevention for 20 years, with prior experience as a registered nurse in adult critical care. Linda earned a BS in Nursing in 1981 from the University of South Carolina and a Masters in Public Health in 1999 from the University of South Florida. Since 2002 she has directed the Epidemiology & Infection Prevention program at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Linda also serves as faculty for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), providing education on infection prevention issues related to design & construction in health care. She is also faculty for a course focusing on infection prevention related to water systems in health care settings. Since 2007 Linda has been a member of the Health Guidelines Revision Committee (HGRC) of the Facilities Guidelines Institute, the organization which publishes the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, and chairs the Infection Prevention Focus Group for the HGRC. In January 2014 Linda was honored to be invited faculty for a conference sponsored by the Centre for Health Protection, Hong Kong, speaking on design and construction related topics for health care.
