Michael Chihoski has more than 23 years of experience working in the health care industry both in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. Chihoski has worked for several large health systems and has been consulting in health care facilities management for more than 15 years. Throughout his career Mr. Chihoski has been involved in more than 1,500 projects for more than 350 hospitals worldwide. Mr. Chihoski is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Aristo Properties Group (APG) — a full service real estate development and advisory services firm. Most recently, Mr. Chihoski served as Chief Operating Officer for Emaar, The Economic City where he was responsible for the development of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Saudi Arabia. KAEC is the largest private development in the world with an estimated value in excess of $100 billion. Prior to his role with Emaar, Mr. Chihoski served as the Senior Vice President, Corporate Engineering Division, for OSF Healthcare System in Peoria, Illinois for seven years. In this role, Mr. Chihoski was responsible for corporate management of real estate, property management, design and construction, plant operations, clinical engineering, security, and environmental health and safety. Mr. Chihoski’s responsibilities included the oversight of a real estate portfolio consisting of more than 200 properties valued in excess of $1.5 billion, over 60,000 pieces of medical equipment, valued in excess of $600 million and a capital construction program in excess of $1 billion. In addition to Mr. Chihoski’s full time responsibilities with APG he also serves as an intermittent consultant to Joint Commission Resources (JCR) and Joint Commission International (JCI). In his role with JCR and JCI, Mr. Chihoski provides expert consulting services to all areas of Facility Management and Safety (FMS), including Life Safety, Environment of Care, Emergency Management and Safe Health Design. Throughout his career, Mr. Chihoski has received numerous awards and recognition for his leadership in facilities management and construction and is a frequent speaker at regional, national, and international professional organizations and conferences. In 2009, Mr. Chihoski was selected to represent the United States at an international planning workshop in Tunisia, Africa sponsored by the World Health Organization on Safe Hospital Design and Emergency Management. Mr. Chihoski is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) and a Senior of the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (SASHE). Mr. Chihoski earned a B.S. Industrial Technology and M.S. Industrial Management both from Northern Illinois University and is an alumnus of Harvard University, Graduate School of Design with an AMDP in Real Estate.
