Dr. Figueiro is a professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Rensselaer’s Lighting Research Center (LRC). She holds a BS in architecture and urbanism, a Master of Science in Lighting and a Ph.D. in Multidisciplinary Science. She directs the Light and Health Program at the LRC and is involved in a series of studies investigating the non-visual effects of light on health and wellbeing. She received the 2006 James D Watson Young Investigator Award, the 2007 Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award, and the 2010 James M. Tien Early Career ’66 Award for Faculty at Rensselaer.
