Stephanie has an extensive background in sustainability, construction and the growing integration between the industries. Her understanding of energy efficiency and design principles stems from her boots on the ground education. Stephanie founded an insulation contracting company in Southern California servicing residential and commercial clientele on both retrofit and new projects. Her knowledge of a buildings thermal envelope continued to grow with the ever changing building codes and quality insulation installation practices. After selling her company, Stephanie continued to educate herself and further pursue the green initiative side of the building industry. She established a successful consulting practice providing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Services, CalGreen guidance and Sustainability Building Strategy services. Stephanie joined the HFS team as their Sustainability Program Director to spearhead the development of their new division. HFS was awarded the US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) contract to provide sustainability management support and has teamed up with Weston Solutions for implementation. LEED is an internationally-recognized green building certification that measures efficiency in green design and construction. Stephanie’s extensive LEED knowledge extends from LEED New Construction, Retail, for Homes, Operations and Maintenance and Commercial Tennant Improvement projects. Within these veins of the LEED program, she worked alongside architects, mechanical and electrical engineers as well as serving as the owner’s representative to ensure the sustainable goas were met. She advised on all aspects of a building’s LEED certification process, making recommendations and assisting with the design and implementation of LEED principles. As a sustainability specialist, Stephanie has made several presentations on the LEED certification program as well as performed LEED rating analyses on buildings. She presented educational seminars that include: the “Economics of Green Building” for the Building Industry Association of San Diego on September 11, 2014 on and “Sustainability in Healthcare” for the Greater San Antonio Association of Healthcare Resource and Material Managers on October 15, 2015. Stephanie received Consultant of the Year award from the Building Industry Associate in San Diego, California for 2014 With organizations and property owners demanding more environmentally responsible building choices and high performance designs, Stephanie is looking forward to continuing to green up the building industry.
