Stephen J. Carbery is the senior system administrator for the corporate facilities division of the Yale New Haven Health System, with oversight for the safe and efficient design and construction of approximately seven million square feet of hospital and real estate space, including directing and overseeing all design, renovation and construction projects, real estate lease management and all property transactions. His direct reports include Plant Engineering, Facilities Planning and the Real Estate departments. Steve is responsible for an annual system capital improvement budget of approximately $200 million and an annual operating budget of $20 million. Prior to his current position at Yale-New Haven, Steve served in a variety of positions at Greenwich Hospital, most recently as the senior hospital administrator in charge of operations and maintenance as well as directing and overseeing all design renovation and construction projects. Steve earned a B.E. in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Haven. Steve is an active member of a number of associations, including The Center for Healthcare Design – Built Environment Network, VHA Capital Facilities Council, ASHE, ACHE, CHES, NEHES, and NFPA. He is a past president of CHES and the SUNY Maritime College Alumni Association.
