Jason D'Antona PE

Jason D’Antona is an electrical engineer with more than 23 years of experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of hospital electrical power systems. For 12 years Jason was the chief electrical engineer for Partners Healthcare in Boston, Massachusetts where he had technical oversight of several world class healthcare institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital. While at Partners he was responsible for establishing policies which governed the design, testing and maintenance of 12 million square feet of hospitals, clinics and research facilities. He is the chairman of the NFPA 99 Electrical Systems Technical Committee (The Health Care Facilities Code) and as a principal member of the NFPA 110 Technical Committee (Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems). He has contributed content to several standards and publications including ANSI/IEEE Standard 602 “IEEE Recommended Practice for the Electric Systems in Healthcare Facilities (The IEEE White Book)”, Chapters 6 and 7 of the 2015 NFPA 99 Handbook and ASHRAE SP-91 “ASHRAE Design Manual for Hospitals and Clinics”. Jason is a principal at Thompson Consultants, Inc. in Marion, MA - a mechanical, electrical and plumbing consulting engineering firm which specializes in design of healthcare facilities. He is currently involved in several hospital electrial infrastructure hardening projects including campus fuel-oil system upgrades at multiple hospitals, a new 6 megawatt generator plant for an academic medical center, and a 500kW PV micro-grid for a NGO hospital in a developing country. He is a licensed electrical engineer in multiple states, a LEED accredited professional and a senior member of IEEE. Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University.
