Christopher Kobus MS RN CIC serves as the Safety Officer for the University of Washington Medical Centers (UWMC) located in Seattle, WA. Prior to becoming the UWMC Safety Officer he executed the role of Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) before becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2009. As a RN he engaged the fields of Emergency Nursing, Employee-Occupational Health, and Infection Prevention practicing in both rural and urban health care environments for over a decade before becoming the UWMC Safety Officer in 2022.

A contributing ICRA 2.0 author his work is focused on the clinical Environment of Care (EOC), with emphasis on health care associated infection (HAI) risk reduction through the implementation of quality translational research and industry best practices.

Mr. Kobus holds a graduate-Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), is Board Certified in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) through the Certification Board for Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), holds active RN licensure in the State of Washington, and is a Faculty Member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineers (ASHE).
