Carolyn Glaser MA, EDAC

Director of Operations, The Center for Health Design

As Director of Operations for The Center for Health Design (CHD), Carolyn is responsible for the organization's operational success. Carolyn monitors major performance measures, develops processes to support value-driven projects, and directs the organization's resources for the most efficient use. In addition, Carolyn oversees the daily activities of the project management staff and provides general oversight at CHD's California offices in collaboration with CHD President, Debra Levin. Prior to this role, Carolyn served as the Senior Project Manager responsible for multiple programs, including the RIPPLE Database, the Environmental Standards Council, the Research Coalition, the Built Environment Network, and the Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification program. Carolyn's interest in the healthcare built environment began when she worked as a residential treatment provider at a psychiatric facility for adolescents. She built on this interest by writing her master's thesis on the sociological, psychological and cultural impact of the hospital environment on patients and staff. Carolyn has a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies from The University of Washington and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Western Washington University.
