Catherine Weidman MPA, BSN,RN,CNML

Cathy received her BSN from York College of Pennsylvania, and her Master of Science in Public Administration from West Chester University. She is certified by the AACN/AONE as a Certified Nurse Manager and Leader. Cathy has 35 years of nursing experience. She began her career at The Chester County Hospital in 1990. She has held many positions at the hospital from staff nurse to the Night Shift Administrative Supervisor. She has been in the position as the Director of Med- Surg since 2003. In this role she oversees the entire med-surg division as well as the Administrative Nursing Supervisors, Bed Managers, Transporters, Patient Safety Assistants, and the outpatient Cancer Center Nursing Staff. Due to her breadth of experience, she brings an awareness of the “big picture” to the many taskforces that she chairs. Cathy led the Shared Decision-making council, “The Voice of Nursing”. This council was responsible to plan, develop, and initiate Unit Councils throughout the Nursing Department. She now co-chairs the Professional Development Council which has created and implemented a Clinical Ladder Program and the Professional Practice Model for the Department of Nursing. She is a member of AONE, PONL, and SEPONL. She is also a member of West Chester University MPA Alumni Advisory Board.
