Dagmar Rittenbacher Master of Interior Design

Healthcare Design Researcher, Gresham Smith

Dagmar Rittenbacher has been working since May 2021 as a design researcher in healthcare for Gresham Smith, an architectural firm. Her work supports insight into applied healthcare research by working with stakeholders, interior designers, and architects to assist with different design thinking strategies, conducting literature reviews, and assisting the research and insights team. She is advocating for healthcare research to improve safety, quality, and experience for patients, family members, and staff in well-designed healthcare facilities. Dagmar is also currently a Ph.D. student in interior design with a focus in healthcare at the University of Florida (UF). She earned a Master’s degree in interior design from UF with a specialization in healthcare on how the physical environment can mitigate nurses’ stress in ICUs. Her research interest lies in testing the validity of a nurses’ physical environmental stress scale regarding nurses’ responses to environmental core factors in the ICU.
