Danielle Gathje, MBA, CHFM, SASHE, is Vice President of Hospital Operations at M Health Fairview – St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota. With over 17 years of experience in healthcare operations and the physical environment, Danielle leads ancillary and support matrixed departments, surgical services, and the emergency department. She is known for driving measurable results through hospital strategy, innovation, and efficiency, and brings deep expertise in facility management, emergency preparedness, and employee safety. Her leadership is defined by a commitment to patient safety, operational excellence, and the creation of resilient healthcare physical environments. Danielle earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and her MBA from the University of St. Thomas. She obtained her CHFM certification in 2015 and has been recognized with the ASHE Regional Leader Award and Minnesota Engineer of the Year. She is deeply engaged with ASHE at the national, regional, and local levels, contributing her expertise to advance healthcare facility management and support the organization’s mission.
