Joe Powell

Currently, Joe M. Powell is Chair of the University Research Institute in Washington, DC. He was also the founding Executive Director of the Rice University Building Institute. While at Rice, John Wiley & Sons published his book: The New Competitiveness in Design & Construction. A registered architect with a master’s degree in architecture, he has spent his 45-year career researching the relationship between corporate strategy, human behavior, and the built environment. His research focus for the past 15 years has been the built environment for healthcare.
