John Ferrara CHFM, CHSP, EEP

ohn Ferrara, CHFM, CHSP, is a seasoned Chief Engineer with expertise in energy efficiency, HVAC operations, and healthcare facility management. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Ochsner Main Campus, John brings over 45 years of combined civil and military experience to his role. His career began as a tool-carrying mechanic, progressing through various management levels, where he learned valuable lessons on leadership, motivation, and the importance of individualized training. John’s diverse experience includes 20 years of extended operations in the U.S. Navy and 15 years of plant management and regulatory compliance. Over the last six years, he has managed large-scale projects, coordinated emergency preparedness, and overseen daily plant operations, all while fostering collaborative relationships with contractors, vendors, and healthcare facilities. John holds multiple certifications, including Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Energy Efficiency Practitioner (EEP), and Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP).
