Karen Dethloff

Vice President of Facilities and Construction, The MetroHealth System

Karen Dethloff has worked at The MetroHealth System for over 18 years and is responsible for facilities management, plant operations, construction, and utilities. Previously, she served in operations and construction roles at the former Meridia Huron Hospital and as Case Western Reserve University’s Director of Construction Administration and Project Management, where she participated in more than $450 million of new construction and renovation projects.

Ms. Dethloff is an active member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, having served on the ASHE Board and national committees, as well as leadership positions with the Northern Ohio Society for Healthcare Engineering and the Ohio Society for Healthcare Facilities Management. She is also an ASHE Fellow member and a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager.

Karen earned her B.S. degree from The Ohio State University, her M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, and her M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University.
