Michael Pomarico, President of Pomarico Design Studio Architecture possesses comprehensive experience in healthcare systems architecture and related support services. His experience in healthcare architecture is the by-product of 37 years of extensive hands on planning, design, and administration of construction for healthcare facilities and medical environments. Michael currently sits on the Environmental Standards Council which coauthors the “Environment of Care” chapter in the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities with a multidisciplinary group of facility executives, design professionals, regulator agents, product manufacturers, and educators.
Michael is also President of HealthRisk Technologies, a firm dedicated to the advancement of monitoring and analysis of healthcare environments and has written software
designed to improve the monitoring of life safety and infection control in the healthcare environment of care. Michael has proven experience in the development of Infection Control Risk Assessments, Interim Life Safety Measures, Construction and Renovation Policy and Procedure Manuals, Life Safety Survey’s, Statements of Conditions and Hospital Cost Center Management. Additionally he has mastered the capacity to successfully integrate this experience into project design features and construction documents to ensure life safety throughout the healthcare environment upgrade process.
