Richard D. Moeller, P.E., FASHE, HFDP, CHC, LEED AP, is a principal of Mazzetti with 40 years’ experience in the design and management of various projects with a particular emphasis on the field of sustainable health care facilities. His expertise includes the design of all the mechanical systems associated with a healthcare environment including central heating and cooling plants, campus distribution systems, building automation systems, master planning, energy studies, facility investigations, surveys, and assessments, system testing and balancing and project commissioning. Dick is also active in several health care related areas such as; the revision committee for the FGI “Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Health Care Facilities” (2006, 2010 & 2014 Editions). He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Sustainability Task Force, past Chairman of the ASHRAE proposed standard 189.3 “The Design, Construction and Operation of Green High Performance Health Care Facilities” and a voting member of the ASHRAE/ASHE SSPC 170 “Ventilation of Health Care Facilities” committee. Dick is a 12 year member of the ASHE faculty and created and teaches the mechanical section for the ASHE Healthcare Constructor Course. He also served as Chairman of the ASHE Mechanical System taskforce creating and writing the new reference manual for healthcare facility managers. Dick Moeller is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); the American Hospital Association (AHA); American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Society for Health Care Engineering He is a nationally and locally recognized lecturer and publisher with regards to healthcare mechanical systems. He is licensed Professional Engineer in 14 states, a designated ASHE Fellow (FASHE), an ASHRAE certified Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP), a LEED® Accredited Professional and an AHA Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC).
