Sammy is a Sustainable Design Professional at HKS. He is passionate about creating more equitable and sustainable communities in all senses of the term: environmental, social, and health. He is a proponent of holistic design that integrates beauty with performance. Sammy applies his technical skills through early phase site and building analysis to allow better understanding and decision-making in design. As a member of the Design Green team in HKS’ Environmental & Social Governance (ESG) group, Sammy’s responsibilities include site investigations through the Nature of Place, assisting teams with sustainability and resilience design visioning, LEED and WELL Building certifications coordination, early phase energy modeling and life cycle assessments. He also engages the firm as a knowledge leader on mass timber construction, designing for resilience, carbon footprint accounting and life cycle assessments.
