With over thirty-seven years of healthcare facilities experience, Steve Carbery is the President of Carbery Facilities Solutions, an independent strategic consulting company specializing in healthcare facilities development and organizational development. Steve was most recently the senior executive of the Corporate Facilities Division for the Yale New Haven Health System. Steve oversaw the safe and efficient operation of approximately 12 million sq. ft. of hospital and healthcare real estate space. His direct reports included Facilities Engineering, Facilities Design and construction, Facilities Data, and the Real Estate department. His responsibilities included all facilities operations, regulatory compliance, sustainability efforts, and environmental compliance. The Corporate Facilities Division directed and oversaw all design, renovation, and construction projects. The real estate division handled the lease and property management for over 450 addresses, including all new property transactions. Steve was responsible for an annual system capital improvement budget of approximately $250 million and an annual operating budget of over $45 million. Before his position at Yale-New Haven Health, Steve served in various management positions at Greenwich Hospital, most recently as the Vice President of Facilities Management in charge of all operations and maintenance, as well as directing and overseeing a thirteen-year campus renewal project. Steve earned a B.E. in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the State University of New York - Maritime College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven. Steve is and has been an active member of a number of associations, including The Center for Healthcare Design – Built Environment Network, the Vizient Capital Facilities Council, Junior Achievement New Haven, Ronald McDonald House Western MA & CT, ASHE, ACHE, NEHES, and NFPA. He is a past president of the Ct. Healthcare Engineers Society (CHES) and is a past and current president of the SUNY Maritime College Alumni Association. He was awarded the Greenwich Hospital Marion Nowack Award as Employee of the Year in 2006 and has been honored by the SUNY Maritime College Alumni Association as Distinguished Alumnus of the Year in 2016. He is married with two grown children and resides in Milford, CT.
